Sticky Notes and Random Thoughts….

I’m rather sure I got around telling all the girls that Ladies Bible Study has been postponed. Just in case I missed somebody – there it is.

Today, I just gotta talk about a “weakness” of mine. Sticky notes. I am always thinking and studying in my mind, so that when I want to “save” the thought, I quickly grab a sticky note. They say our minds work like a computer, but when I “save” a thought, no amount of searching brings it back – usually. A pad of them is every where I light upon, even by me when I sleep. This morning, I was combining them onto a page in my prayer notebook and did that to some of them; but, just couldn’t continue. Sometimes when I look at the note, my memory will recall where I was when I wrote it and where I wanted to go with that thought when I had time to study.

Here are some recent ones. See if you see the trend, or subject matter:

Rm. 7:4 – “fruit unto God”

Daily Light 9/17 evening, “taste”

look up “Christ be formed” & “Christ in you”

2 Sam. 7:12 – “seed of David”

John 12:24 – grain dies

See 9/8 in D. L.

E. E. page 190

Page 859 in NKG

2 Cor. 5:14-15

1 Cor. 15:22, 45

1 Tim. 2:13, 14

The Holy Spirit and believing – Acts 10:43, 44

parable of vineyard – Mt. 21:33-46

the laboring element in sowing and reaping

harvest – John 4:34-36

See D. L. 8/24 evening

harvesting comes in seasons

Now, look those up and put them with your thoughts that come to mind. I also have chores stuck up around my study area and counter in the “hole in the wall.”

do my nails,

finish wash

collect house trash

plan meals for week

And here’s a Bible verse stuck on my bookcase on a “Post-it” 3 x 5 card – yep, they make index cards –

Isa 57:15” (NET version) “For this is what the high and exalted says, the One Who rules forever, whose name is Holy: I dwell in an exalted and Holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.”

Let’s all stand and sing the “Hallelujah Chorus!”

Fervent prayer…

Fervent prayer…

The first verse in this morning’s reading of The Daily Light, by the Bagster family, was Luke 18:1; and I know the last half of that verse by heart so that it has a welcome into my thoughts at any moment. However, today I needed the “jolt” of this verse to drive to the center of my circumstances and thoughts and set up a permament vigil there. Here is the portion of the verse printed in this day’s reading: “Men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” The purpose of praying is to offset the results of “losing heart.” And, how might “lose heart?” –by persisting, perseverance, prevailing, being vigilant, and continuing! (All of those are key words used in the rest of the verses of Daily Light for today.) Here, let me paste them all:

Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. — Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all per-severance and supplication for all saints.

I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. — As a prince hast thou power with God and with men. — Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.

[Jesus] went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

LUKE 18:1.  Luke 11:5 8.  Eph. 6:18. Gen. 32:26,28.  Col. 4:2. Luke 6:12.

(You can tell I used different versions for my words.) I studied out the words, put them back into context, and applying them to my daily walk and life is needful and most wonderful!

More later, Lord willing. Back to dentist today. There 3 hours yesterday, cleaning and checkup today.

I delight in color coding…..

Am I crazy …..or what?  I have something to laugh about all the time – me!  When I opened my “Daily Light” this morning, I could immediately see God’s instructions and commandments for me today (and every day).  The commandments were underlined in blue, the facts and doctrines were in brown, and the praises were in yellow.  Some days, I take the references at the bottom and pencil them in beside their verses.  There are days that I look up each verse in its context in my Bible.  Some of these quotes are just partial verses and I want to see the whole verse; and then, that may lead to comparing Scripture with Scripture.   7:00 a.m. slips up on me, but our dog, Rusty, reminds me that he hasn’t been out since 4:15 a.m.

I was unable to get my exact colors to show for you because I really don’t know this template very well.  That means I haven’t spent the time clicking on everything to see what it does.

You will get the idea:

Morning “Daily Light”  – August 19th:

As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.

Ye know how we exhorted . . . and charged every one of you, . . . that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.–Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].–Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.–Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
