Present tense believing into His Name…

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (ability, privilege) to become children (“teknon” – maturing children – not “sons” as in KJV) of God, even to those who believe (present tense, active voice) in (“eis” – into, meaning a motion to an object with the purpose of reaching it or touching it.) His name,

Those born of God have the privilege and ability to mature toward the object of their pursuit, His Name.  What is His Name?

In Revelation 19:13, “His Name is called, The Word of God…”

In Revelation 19:16, He has a name written on His robe and thigh, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

His Name is the Word of God (which the born of God ones will be present-tense believing), having to do with Kings and Lords.  His name is the Word of the Kingdom.  It is the seed of the word of the kingdom with which the born of God ones are conceived.

1Jn 3:23  And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

“Believe” in the above verse is in the aorist, active, subjunctive….meaning one believes at a certain point in time and actively continues to believe in the same manner….subjunctive means that this one should continue, but may not; thus, the many warnings and exhortations we explore, especially in Hebrews.

“Life” is in His Name!  John 20:31  but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

That little word, “in” is “en” in the Greek and means, “in the sphere of.”  In the sphere of everything His name means is life – and “life” is “zoe” – the word used exclusively for life in the coming age.  The age to come contains the first 1,000 years of our Lord’s reign as Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords.
