…a Bible student's notes…

LBS, week of 9/9/13…

Keep studying on your assignment concerning the 5 warnings in Hebrews in relation to “having your senses trained to discern good and evil.”

Heb 5:9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,
Heb 5:10 being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
Heb 5:11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
Heb 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
Heb 5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

This is very important because you will not become dull of hearing (“faith comes by hearing”), you will be able to teach others because you can assemble and assimilate the solid food (“meat”) of the Word of God; and, most importantly, you will be able to discern what is profitable for your lifestyle and what is good for nothing towards your future in our Lord’s kingdom.

Tomorrow, I plan to address verse 1 of chapter 13.  We should be able to discern and discuss “Who are my ‘brethren?'”  Be prepared to take plenty of notes.  You NEED this lesson!  If you want to attend by Skype, send me an email or comment below.
