…a Bible student's notes…

LBS 9/03/13 notes, part 2

Then, I reminded all of us that our minds – thoughts – needed guarding and this could be accomplished by taking every thought captive until it acknowledges the authority of Christ.  The last thing we desire is to be slaves to our own thoughts.

And, to enjoy Bible study, we must personalize the Word to us – personally.  This means not discussing what any other church, any other Christians, etc. are doing or not doing.  Our thoughts will be centered upon our own relationship to the exhortations, commandments, promises, and encouragements in Hebrews.

I also read a short devotional from Elisabeth Elliot.

Then, we addressed our two handouts:  the 13th chapter of Hebrews and the KJV and NASB printout of Hebrews 13:5.
