…a Bible student's notes…

Reason Hebrews was written….

Yesterday, you learned the subject of Hebrews in chapter 1, verse 14:  “those who are – in the present tense – inheriting salvation.”  In chapter 13, we have the reason for this epistle: “But, I urge you, brethren, bear (“anecho” – hold up in high esteem) this word of exhortation (“paraklesis” – a calling near for an advocate, helper)…”

So, what’s in between?  Warnings and Exhortations.  There are five main warnings that build upon the first one in chapter 2 and the exhortations contained in our Great High Priest and the “faith” examples from the Old Testament saints who endured.

I have named Hebrews as “The Gospel of Hearing.”

Now, read all the way through – from the beginning.

Enjoy.
