…a Bible student's notes…

Revelation in Hebrews is Progressive…

Chapters 2 through 12 begin with a conjunction, preposition, or adverb – meaning each chapter continually builds upon the previous one.  Observe the first word of these chapters from my NASB:

  • For this reason  (2)
  • Therefore  (3)
  • Therefore  (4)
  • For  (5)
  • Therefore  (6)
  • For  (7)
  • Now  (8)
  • Now  (9)
  • For  (10)
  • Now  (11)
  • Therefore  (12)

There is one central subject established in the first chapter: v. 14 – literally:  “those who are inheriting salvation.”  This doctrine – subject – will be developed in this epistle mainly from Old Testament scripture in a progressive style.

Assignment:  Take a “clean” reference Bible and highlight the Old Testament references in the margin.
