The Kingdom and Gospel of our Lord, part 22…

The Kingdom and Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, part 22…

Believe His Words” – from May 15, 2010:

Yesterday, I hope you believed the scriptures you read because you discovered that Jesus is not the gospel, but, that He proclaimed the gospel – the gospel of the kingdom – and, that to receive Him meant that you believe His words, His message.

(John 1:11) He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. (John 1:12) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, (John 1:13) who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jesus preached the kingdom of God to CITIES, signifying a change of government, the government of God. (Luke 4:43) And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Jesus was the messenger of the covenant:(Mal 3:1) Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Yesterday, you also read verses from the first chapter of Acts, and you probably are familiar with the second chapter of Acts. Keeping in context, what is chapter two about? What is being preached, then? The Kingdom! The context of Jesus’ teachings and message did not change – Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Mt. 10:7). Now, read chapter two and you will understand what is actually happening! What did they have to do? (Acts 2:41) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (We know already what “His Word” was/is.)

(Acts 8:5) Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

(Acts 8:12) But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

(Acts 11:1) And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
