…Salvation in the 7th Day, part 4…

Glory, honour, and immortality in the life/age to come:
Romans 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality (lit: “incorruption”), eternal life:

To inherit the kingdom
James 2:5 Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? (NIV)
 At His coming
Matthew 25:31,34,46 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 46 …the righteous into life eternal [life age-lasting].
Kingdom exclusion
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when (lit:”in”) the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven(singular) with his mighty angels,(“the angels of His power) 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know(“oido”, will include Vine’s note concerning this word later, however consider this: they willfully did not know God.) not God, and that obey(this word mostly translated “hear” It is present active)) not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: (Earlier post about the only gospel Jesus taught:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting [age-lasting] destruction (Bengal – “driven far from His presence.” – RWP – “pay the penalty) [“and exclusion,” RSV] from the presence (visage) of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Nothing new about Scoffing at unfulfilled prophecies:
Jeremiah 17:15 They keep saying to me, “Where is the word of the LORD? Let it now be fulfilled!”

Malachi 2:17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

“The Promise” is the reason the scoffers are scoffing. There must be a resurrection in order for God to be the “God of the living.” And, the resurrection means a change in power. Here are just a few references to resurrection. Read them. Read them in context. Believe them.

Mt 22:31 “But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 ‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
(Luk 14:14) and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
(Luk 20:35) but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage;  (Luk 20:36) for neither can they die anymore, for they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
(Joh 5:29) and shall come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.
I have already given you the references for “resurrection” in Acts. You will see, easily, that it is the subject in this early “elect” church:
