…Salvation in the 7th Day, part 3…

..continuing, “What is The Promise:

Acts 17:31 “…He [God] has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (One importance of the resurrection is in a nutshell here!)
I’ve got to tell you about a book I was reading about the registered church in China. It is against the law to speak or teach about the resurrection because it means there will be a change in government! The governments of the world do not want to be overthrown – but there is coming a day……

The blessing of Abraham
Galatians 3:14,22 That (“hina” means, “in order that” – refers back to previous verses) the blessing (“eulogia”) of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through(lit:”en”) Jesus Christ;(lit: “Christ Jesus”) that (“hina”) we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Luke 24:49, And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”) 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin,(“to miss the mark”) that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given (given freely – but in subjunctive case) to them that believe (present tense – meaning they constantly live a life of faith (in the age to come) and are able to please God).

CLV – “But the Scripture locks up all together under sin, that the promise out of Jesus Christ’s faith may be given to those who are believing.”
This is the promise – age-lasting life
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise(nominative) that he hath promised us, even eternal life [aionios zoe – age-lasing life]. Young’s: 1Jn 2:25 “and this is the promise that He did promise us–the life the age-during.”
In Acts 1:4-8, The Promise is related to being baptized in the Holy Spirit. “4, And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not separate themselves from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, “which,”saith He, “ye… heard of Me. 5, Because John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit [gifts] not after these many days.” 6, When they therefore were come together, they were questioning Him, saying, “Lord, Thou dost in this time set up again the kingdom to Israel?” 7, And He said unto them, “It is not yours to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His Own authority. 8, But ye shall receive power, after that THE Holy Spirit [The Giver] is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses of Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and as far as the uttermost part of the earth.”
