The Promise, Resurrection, Hope, Salvation – in the 7th Day…

Where is the promise of His coming?….part 1…

I feel it necessary to remind us of something. We easily talk of the coming kingdom age in our church and fellowship. We know that it holds rewards as well as judgment. We even know of what’s called, “kingdom exclusion.” And, I am not afraid to say that the coming 7th day is what the scriptures are all about. “Salvation” pertains to the 7th day. Approved, unapproved, rejected, – and HOPE – etc. – all refer to the 7th day. For 6,000 years God has been creating His “new creation” – those created in the Last Adam, “in Christ,” – to occupy the earth as the first Adam was meant to do. This will begin on the 7th day of judgment for 1,000 years, then the present messiah, satan, will be loosed and ultimately thrown into the lake of fire, bringing in the 8th day of the new beginning of the new heavens and the new earth. Oh, my! I just Love the Lord and His plans! He gives us this life now, to not love in the least, preparing us for salvation in the coming life in that 7th Day. He will need righteous judges who know how to wield a rod of iron. He will need co-regents, rulers over cities, and a host of government “employees.” And, He will need servants. Just look at the governments of countries today – they will ALL be replaced!

False teachers say, “Where is the promise of His coming?” Well, let’s see at what they are scoffing.

2Pe 3:3 ¶ Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with [their] mocking, following after their own lusts,
4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For [ever] since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” (NAS)

2Pe 3:3 ¶ Know (present, active participle – “ginosko” – signifies to be taking in knowledge, to come to know and understand completely – Vine) this (in the Greek, “this” is the first word in this sentence- ) first (in time, space, order of importance) of all, that in the last (farther-est, utmost extreme) days, mockers (“scoffing scoffers”) will come with [their] mocking, following (departing, walking in the general activities of life) after (according to) their own lusts (cravings, longings), 4 and saying (“lego” -to lay forth, speak),

  1. Jesus Christ just wants us to preach the Gospel: His death, His burial, and His resurrection to others, without speculation, and without a lot of our own commentary. With Bibles open and humbly reading what is written. The Lord did not make salvation hard or complicated, but we tend to, for some reason. Connie Walden (Keeping it simple)
