The Destroyer of the Firstborn, part 18…

Today, let’s continue looking at a few more verses that inform us as to satan, the destroyer’s, sphere of activity and dominion:

1Ti 3:7 And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he may not fall into reproach(defamation) and the snare (trap) of the devil.

2Ti 2:26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive (captured alive) by him to do his will.

Heb 2:14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death (an adjective used as a noun) He might render powerless(to render useless, to render entirely idle) him who had (present, active tense) the power (dominion) of death, (an adjective used as a noun) that is, the devil;

1Pe 5:8 Be of sober spirit ( “to be free from the influence of intoxicants” – a meek and quiet spirit!), be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking (to seek in order to find) someone to devour. (to drink down)

I have more verses that I will post below for you, but it is needful to “nutshell” the devil’s roll of “destroyer of the firstborn.” Our Lord is the firstborn of many brethren. Satan intends to destroy the “church of the firstborn.” There is one powerful, precious provision – the application of the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ. (1John, chapter 1)

1Jn 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

Rev 2:10 ‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Rev 12:12 “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years (This is what it is all about, folks! The next thousand years – The Kings of Kings and The Lord of Lords ruling with a rod of iron with His bride and co-regents.)

Rev 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Mat 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
