The Destroyer of the Firstborn, part 15…

The blood of the substitute Lamb prevented the death of the firstborn in the households of the Israelites. The Lamb of God partakes of a body of flesh and blood to render powerless him who had the power of death, the devil – Heb 2:14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also (same word as “and”) partook (having in common with..) of the same, that through death (“thanatos” – an adjective used as a noun) He might (or might not – subjunctive mood) render powerless him who had the power (dominion) of death, that is, the devil ( “slanderer, accuser”).

The one having dominion in the sphere of death is the accuser of the brethren.

( “Death” – an adj. used as a noun, means it is a description of a particular type of death. I believe this is describing death in the age to come as opposed to life in the age to come. “Brethren” need to be aware of the possibility of losing “life” in the age to come through separation from that life – which for 1,000 years, will be the reign of “The Lamb of God.”)

Why Did the Son of God Manifest Himself?

1Jn 3:8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

This is the Concordant Literal Version: 1Jn 3:8 Yet he who is doing sin is of the Adversary, for from the beginning is the Adversary sinning. For this was the Son of God manifested, that He should be annulling the acts of the Adversary.”

The Works of the Devil

Temptation:Mat 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

He is the enemy sowing “tares” among the “sons of the kingdom:” Mat 13:39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels.

He takes away the Word of the Kingdom from those who have heard it in their hearts: Luk 8:12 “And those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they may not believe and be saved. (Do not be misled here concerning the word, “saved.” The context here has to do with the Word of God, which is also named, the Word of the (coming) Kingdom. and – Luke 1,  verse 2 from the Amplified Version: Luk 1:2  Exactly as they were handed down to us by those who from the [official] beginning [of Jesus’ ministry] were eyewitnesses and ministers of the Word [that is, of the doctrine concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God],
