…a Bible student's notes…

What the Bible is Only about…….

One time a woman told me, “Mary, you are always talking about the kingdom and I have searched the Bible and cannot find the kingdom – especially as its theme.”

Let me see if this will help:

1.  THE KINGDOM PREPARED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD!

Matt. 25: 31a & 34- “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory,……….Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared (appointed for you from the beginning, ordained, provided)  for you from the foundation of the world.'”

Notice: The Son of Man comes into His glory and becomes King.  The Father has blessed those who inherit the kingdom before He conceived the orderly arrangement called, “world” – “kosmos.”

2.  ALL THINGS CAME INTO BEING THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD!

John 1:1-3  -“In beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in beginning with God.  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”

3.  THE “WORD OF GOD” IS THE SAME AS THE “MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”

Luke 8:8b – 11 – “‘He who has ears to hear, let him hear.’  And His disciples began questioning Him as to what this parable might be.  And He said, ‘To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, in order that SEEING THEY MAY NOT SEE, AND HEARING THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.  Now, the parable is this: the seed is the Word of God.’

Notice:  In verse 10, that truths concerning the kingdom of God can only be known by revelation from God!  Mysteries are to be understood when the writer, author, reveals them.  (This is easy to understand if you read Nancy Drew as a kid.  I did, and always I had to wait for the author to unveil the mysterious elements.)

4.  KEEP YOUR EARS CLEAN!

You can be “dull of hearing” – Heb. 5:11

You must pay attention to your hearing – Heb 2:1

A hard heart prevents hearing – Heb. 3:14

Hearing and faith must be united – Heb. 4:2

Hearing and patience must be united – Heb. 6:12

5.  SOME TRUTHS – FACTS – TO BE UNDERSTOOD FROM THE BEGINNING – IN GENESIS.

The Word of God begins with God creating the creation – out of nothing! – how? by the Word of His mouth – Ps. 33:6-9.

In verse 2, the Spirit of God is first mentioned (not needed until the creation has become formless, void, and dark).

(You must know of this “gap” between verses one and two or you will not be able, nor allowed, to interpret and rightly divide this Word of Truth.  You will not receive more revelation about the Word of God.  Do not let any “educated” person convince you there is no period of time between these verses no matter what evidences he pulls out of his hat!  The Bible has the evidence you need:

– earth not created void, Isa. 45:18

– earth became formless and void, Jer. 4:23

– God made (not “created”) it formless and void, Isa. 24:1

– the “face of the deep” is frozen, Job 38:29-30

In Genesis 1:2, the Spirit of God is introduced as “hovering,” “moving,” “warming” the ruined creation – as a hen gathering her chicks under her feathers.

In verse 3, “God said…..” The Word of God continues with his restoration of a waste and empty creation – WHY?  Because He had ONE central plan for His creation before He began – The Kingdom of Glory with His Son as King co-ruled with “inheritors.”  That’s the reason the “first Adam” had to have a “helpmeet” – a co-ruler to reign with him.  So does the “second Adam.”

Eph 1:1-14(ESV):
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love
he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ
as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
